With my Paris trip just around the corner i am looking forward to getting around to some museums in-between some serious shopping. The Museum Bourdelle in Paris pays homage to one of the “most couturiers of couturiers” Cristobal Balenciaga with more than one hundred pieces out the mason’s archive. Balenciaga, L’Oeuvre Noir exhibits the black tones of Haute Couture. Balenciaga was motivated by the colour black, the variations of colour with light, fabric and texture. He was inspired through local folklore from his childhood growing up in Spain. The pieces are adorned with ruffles, sequins, stones and fringe. I am super stoked to see the show and can’t wait to share the pics with you!
